Valencia Packing List — What to Pack for Every Season
Valencia's semi-arid Mediterranean climate means hot dry summers (91–93°F in July–August), mild pleasant winters (57–59°F), and a distinctive autumn rainy season with DANA storms in October–November. Pack lightweight linens and breathable fabrics for summer, mid-weight layers for winter, waterproof gear for autumn, and a smart-casual wardrobe year-round to match Valencia's polished-casual Mediterranean style.
By Season

- Light spring jacket or blazer
- Breathable T-shirts
- Waterproof shoes for April
- Sunscreen SPF 30+
67–93°F

- Sunscreen SPF 50+
- Reusable water bottle (1.5L)

General Packing Tips for Valencia
- 1.Valencia's biggest packing mistake is underestimating the Tramontana wind — the cold northerly wind makes 46–50°F winter evenings at the port, La Malvarrosa seafront, and Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias feel 10°F colder than the thermometer reads; always carry a wind-blocking outer layer.
- 2.During Las Fallas (March 15–19), pack ear protection — the Mascletà firecracker display at Plaça de l'Ajuntament reaches 120+ decibels daily at noon and the Cremà burning ceremonies on March 19 are dangerously loud without foam earplugs or silicone ear protection.
- 3.October and November visitors must download the AEMET app before arrival — Valencia's DANA storm events can escalate from clear skies to flash flood conditions within hours; when an orange or red alert is issued, avoid the Turia Garden riverbed park and stay away from low-lying streets in the historic centre.
