Local tips for Cape Town in September

September is peak wildflower season in the fynbos — one of the best times to hike Table Mountain, Silvermine, or Cape Point for carpets of blooms; go early to beat the wind.

Wine estates come alive with spring events and new releases; shoulder season means easier bookings and pleasant weather for outdoor tastings before summer heat.

The ocean is still cold but the air is warming — good month for coastal walks and photography without the summer crowds; pack layers as mornings can be crisp.
